Overnight in the Kalahari Desert - Meals: D |
| Windhoek to Kalahari Desert: Depart Windhoek and drive via Rehoboth to Hardap Dam. Continue into Kalahari Desert for overnight. A scenic drive will be undertaken towards sunset (in open vehicles). |
| Day 2 - Sunday: |
Overnight Fish River Canyon - Meals: B, D |
| Kalahari Desert to Fish River Canyon: Drive through Kalahari and visit the Kokerboom forest near Keetmanshoop. Stop in Keetmanshoop - enjoy lunch. Continue via Naute Dam, see the Fish River Canyon’s spectacular northern fringes. |
| Day 3 - Monday: |
Overnight in Lüderitz - Meals: B, D |
| Fish River Canyon to Lüderitz: Continue towards coast via Bethanie and Aus. Possibility to see desert adapted horses on entering Namib Desert. Enjoy spectacular scenery on way to Lüderitz where we arrive around midday. Scenic drive around southern peninsula during afternoon. |
| Day 4 - Tuesday: |
Overnight in Maltahöhe - Meals: B, D |
| Lüderitz to Maltahöhe: Visit Kolmanskop, a deserted diamond town and today a museum. Visit Duwisib Castle in the afternoon. |
| Day 5 - Wednesday: |
Overnight in Namib Naukluft Park - Meals: B, D |
| Maltahöhe to Namib Naukluft Park: Early start to visit Sossusvlei, where we will undertake a scenic drive with 4x4 vehicles into the heart of the Namib Desert. Visit the Sesriem Canyon and the village Solitaire en-route past the Naukluft Mountains. |
| Day 6 - Thursday: |
Overnight in Swakopmund - Meals: B, LP, D |
| Namib Naukluft Park to Swakopmund: Drive through Kuiseb Canyon and continue towards the coast. A packed lunch will be enjoyed along the road. See the ‘Welwitschia Mirabilis’, a plant that is said to grow older than 1000 years. Visit Moon landscape and Walvisbay before arriving late afternoon in Swakopmund. |
| Day 7 - Friday: |
Overnight in Swakopmund - Meals: B |
| Swakopmund (unescorted): Enjoy a day at leisure in Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour in Swakopmund. |
| Day 8 - Saturday: |
Overnight Etosha National Park - Meals: B, D |
| Swakopmund to Etosha National Park: Depart Swakopmund towards north-east via Outjo into Etosha National Park, where we undertake the first game drive in our vehicle en-route to a Rest camp |
| Day 9 - Sunday: |
Overnight Etosha National Park - Meals: B, D |
| Etosha National Park: The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along this enormous saltpan. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch not included). |
| Day 10 - Monday: |
Overnight on the eastern border of Etosha - Meals: B, D |
| Etosha National Park: Another day of explorations in this world famous National Park. Your specialist guide will introduce you to the complex subject of managing such an enormous reserve. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (own expense). We leave the park late afternoon. |
| Day 11 - Tuesday: |
Tour Ends - Meals: B |
| Lake Otjikoto to Windhoek: Visit Lake Otjikoto and the mine museum in Tsumeb. Continue towards Windhoek via Otjiwarongo and Okahandja where we will visit the Herero graves and a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in Windhoek in the late afternoon. |
